INDUSTRIAL

RECYCLING

At South County Sand & Gravel, we are committed to recycling in order to reduce the impact waste has on the environment. We believe persevering and reusing natural resources, where possible, is the first step towards a sustainable future. Numerous waste types arise from construction and demolition. They in turn are recycled and supplied as Recycled Aggregates for new jobs.

All waste is tipped, sorted, separated and then processed. Our crushing and screening facilities, which are constantly being updated to the latest specifications, enable us to achieve a 90% recycle rate.

Recycled aggregate is produced by crushing concrete, and sometimes asphalt, to reclaim the aggregate. Recycled aggregate can be used for many purposes. The primary market is road base. The use of recycled aggregate can save money for local governments and other purchasers, create additional business opportunities, save energy when recycling is done on site, conserve diminishing resources of urban aggregates, and help local governments meet the sustainability goals.
